The mind is a very curious organ. Without we as humans would not be able to function in the world. The brain has a lot to do with our learning. In terms of how we learn and what hemisphere we use the most. The concept of the right and left brain think developed from research in the late 1960s by an American psychologist Roger W Sperry. The correct term for the halves would be hemispheres. Mr. Sperry had discovered that the human brain has two different ways of thinking. The right hemisphere being more visual and the left hemisphere being more verbal. The left hemisphere is known as the digital brain. The left side controls reading and writing, calculation and logical thinking. The right side is known as the analog brain this side†¦show more content†¦Scientist felt it took two hemispheres to be logical or to be creative. We all know learning takes place in the brain. Left brained learners are logical, sequential, linear, analytical,reality based, objective, verbal and symbo lic. The right brained learners seem to be more intuitive, random, global, fantasy based, subjective, non-verbal, visual and concrete. In conclusion, when you think of your brain you automatically think of how in-depth it must be. It holds your memories, its your phone book, your notepad. I mean honestly you couldnt do anything without it. When it comes to how people learn your hemispheres play a big part. I know people who could see a problem once and know how to solve it, however I would have to sit down and really study for weeks just to understand that same problem. While learning about the different ways your brain works and the different affects each hemisphere has on your learning I’m sure this could help people with their different learning styles. People who paint and create video games would use their right hemisphere more often, but a person with great public speaking skills would use their left hemisphere. If a person can train their brain to use both side they wo uld surely be ahead of the game. I wonder if acclaimed geniuses use both hemispheres. This week’s assignment focused on my experience exploring both the academic success center and the dissertation center via the NCU website. I began with the academic success center (ASC) and was pleased to find an easily accessible link on my NCU homepage just below the â€Å"center for teaching and learning† tab. One of the first features I noticed was a link on the right hand side for accessing a live chat. This site features the ability to ask quick questions as needed any time after 3 PM, pacific standard time. Although I did not actually try out the live chat since I was exploring earlier in the morning, it was reassuring to know that this is available. In today’s world of technology I find myself frustrated with automated systems and†¦show more content†¦I discovered that with the â€Å"free† feature, I could only copy and paste my documents. If I tried to upload a document, the site wanted me to pay for a premium access. With the cop y and paste feature however, I found that choosing one to two paragraphs at a time really helped me to focus on sentence structure and word choice more than when I re-read my entire document all at once. There were color coordinated symbols for editing suggestions such as spelling, grammar and word choice as well as a feature to detect for possible plagiarism. Although I tried a few other editing links, the â€Å"polish my paper† website gave me an error message and the â€Å"grammar base† website wanted to charge me when redirected to their main web address. Another concept I learned, or rather something that has been brought to my attention happened while looking at the â€Å"APA style central† feature. Here I discovered that I could view sample papers and reference lists. Looking at a sample reference list I realized how many different book sources there are now, each with slightly different referencing rules. When I completed my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in 2010 and 2012, things like â€Å"ebooks† and â€Å"Kindle† were still fairly new. It will be helpful going forward to have sample reference lists like this to verify my APA guidelines. The issuing bank may issue the LC available by negotiation with a nominated bank or it may allow the LC to be freely negotiated with any bank. In the first case, the beneficiary, that is the seller, has to present the documents only to that bank, which is the nominated bank. Advance Against Hypothecation: Packing credit is given to process the goods for ex port. The advance is given against security and the security remains in the possession of the exporter. The exporter is required to execute the hypothecation deed in favour of the bank. . Advance Against Pledge: The bank provides packing credit against security. The security remains in the possession of the bank. On collection of export proceeds, the bank makes necessary entries in the packing credit account of the exporter. 4. Advance Against Red L/C: The Red L/C received from the importer authorizes the local bank to grant advances to exporter to meet working capital requirements relating to processing of goods for exports. The issuing bank stands as a guarantor for packing credit. 5. Advance Against Back-To-Back L/C: The merchant exporter who is in possession of the original L/C may request his bankers to issue Back-To-Back L/C against the security of original L/C in favour of the sub-supplier. The sub-supplier thus gets the Back-To-Bank L/C on the basis of which he can obtain packing credit. 6. Advance Against Exports Through Export Houses: Manufacturer, who exports through export houses or other agencies can obtain packing credit, provided such manufacturer submits an undertaking from the export houses that they have not or will not avail of packing credit against the same transaction. . Advance Against Duty Draw Back (DBK): DBK means refund of customs duties paid on the import of raw materials, components, parts and packing materials used in the export production. The exporter has two options to avail him of export finance. To avail him of pre-shipment credit in rupees ; then the post shipment credit either in rupees or in foreign currency denominated credit or discounting /rediscounting of export bills. * To avail of pre-shipment credit in foreign currency ; discounting/rediscounting of the export bills in foreign currency. * FCPC will also be available both to the supplier EOU/EPZ unit and the receiver EOU/EPZ unit. Pre-shipment credit in foreign currency sh all also be available on exports to ACU (Asian Clearing Union) countries with effect from 1. 1. 1996. Eligibility: PCFC is extended only on the basis of confirmed /firms export orders or confirmed L/C’s. The â€Å"Running account facility will not be available under the scheme. These distorted self-concepts can be seen as a person labels himself and reacts to his own behaviors differently than people around him. Thus, many human problems involve a false self-evaluation and self-reaction. The roots of out self-concepts are the evaluations and the impressions of others in their responses to our interaction with them. The significance that a particular event has on individual depends on the concepts that it activates to encode a meaning. This psychological meaning and significance of an event, rather than the event itself, affects its impact on the individual. If a person is exposed to a certain set of train constructs, he will pursue these constructs, and apply them to relevant situation which might which might be different in its context. There are differences between the individuals in the types of constructs the tend to self-activate. Thus, people are different on the constructs that they have which are readily accessible for encoding new event which are relevant to themselves. Self-conceptions may influence how a person behaves in a certain environment. If a person feels that he or she is not welcome in a particular place, they will act aggressively or ignorantly towards others. This notion might not necessarily be true, but since the individual perceives it that way, his or her self-concepts are set. One might behave inappropriately in a certain place while having no idea he is doing so. Although concepts continue to change over time, their foundations form early in life. Bibliography: .
